Hey, I was reading about a guy who hacked his TV to accept straight RGB from an arcade board (
http://www.porkrind.org/arcade/tv-hack.html ), and I was wondering if a similar thing could not be done with Advancemame.
Essentially the guy put some resistors on the RGB wires coming out of his board and then hooked them to the connections for the RGB guns on the back of the CRT's daughterboard on his TV. He then wired the composite sync into the composite sync chip on the TV, although I've heard that if you have a Composite In on your TV, you can just feed the composite sync in there without any accompanying video signal.
Do you think that the RBG outs from a VGA card will be able to directly drive the TV's RGB guns ?
Also, would there be a need for an Isolation transformer (I'm thinking a TV is made to run without one, so why would hacking the RGB guns require one ?)
Thanks for the help/suggestions.
