Creating Instruction Card / Labels for Multi-Use Cabinet
« on: June 21, 2006, 07:35:30 am »
Not sure this is the right place for this, but my wife and I are finishing up a multi - emulator cabinet...we have ZSNES, KEGA, MAME, etc. on it.

She wants to do an 'Instruction" card for it and I concur that it needs one...but how should we set one up for so many different emulators as each button does something different for each different EMU?  Suggestions are MOST welcome!

I suppose it depends on what front end you're using. I'm using three areas to convey instructions to the user - the CP, the bezel and the FE. The CP can't be changed, so only the most basic info is here. In this case, the fact that pushing the 1 and 2 player start buttons together sends an "esc" command (via IPAC).  The bezel can be changed fairly frequently, and that's where I'll put basic instructions on how to navigate through the FE. On the FE itself, the basic idea (push 1 player start to begin) is reinforced. I plan on also using CPViewer to give specific game control info to users via the FE.
