Galaga Bartop Sideart
« on: June 16, 2006, 10:51:50 am »
I've gotten back into my ancient 'Galaga Bartop' project and started fixing up the artwork a little more. This contains elements of Zorg's marquee drawing and PatrickL's full sideart drawing.

I'm trying to simplify a lot of the details and reduce the colors so this can be produced easily with die-cut vinyls or stencils.
There's still a lot of work to go on this...

Looks great so far!

Since you are designing side-art I thought I'd make this comment...  There are very few pieces of sideart out there with a good deal of "bleed".  This would eb cool since you could cover the entire side of the cabinet with art, right up to the edges.  Maybe offering a version on a matte of stars or space or something would be cool.  Wallpaper for cabinets if you will..

It would be nice if the logo were larger.

Yes, I've been thinking about the size of the logo. It's already a good deal bigger than the original, but I think I might lose the yellow glow and enlarge the logo a little more.

Could you keep the glow and overlap things?

I tried it with the glow sitting behind the green framework, but it just doesn't work. The glow might be a little too detailed for how I'm having this produced anyway, so it'll probably have to go either way.

Hey JoyMonkey. Looking real good. I',m starting to think about building a dedicated 1 player bartop. That graphics you've made a sweeeeet!
Vids:  Home built MAME machine, Crystal Castles. Arkanoid

Always on the lookout for buying 90's game with Ramps that need work...
