Here's the situation. I bought some new Champion windows last year. I took advantage of the 12 months same as cash. The contract is done through AIG (American General). I've been paying it off and June 2 was the termination date for the offer. I sent the last payment in through my bank's online bill payment service mid May, as I did all the others. AIG doesn't except electronic payments (wonder why) so the bank always issues a check. I just got back from vacation and start going through the mail. I see a statment from AIG and figure it shows my pay off. Nope it says I didn't make the last payment and I now owe $450 in back interest. I've confirmed with my bank that the payment was sent just fine. I've called AIG and they pretty much said TS. I've never had a payment not get to where it's going and I've done online bill paying for the last 6 years. I smell a rat.
I'm looking for advice on what I can do. I'm not sure who I can even complain to. Any help out there? Thanks.
