Electrohome G07 via VGA Breakout cable?
« on: June 06, 2006, 06:45:57 pm »
I'm having pretty much the same problem that GrizzlyAddams was having in this thread
Here's what I know -

- I built this breakout cable.  I can get the picture VERY close to stable on the monitor, but it continues to scroll.  (the monitor is placed horizontally so the monitor keeps rolling up or down.  I can stabilize it in the middle of the screen.  It runs my Road Blasters fine on it.

- I have another monitor which seems more modern and seems to be called (at least it says on the board) a Videomaster 13.  with a Samsung picture tube.  The breakout cable works fine to this monitor.

- I'm getting the same results with dmame/arcadeos & advancemenu/advancemame.

so my question is I guess...do I need to change something in the config of these apps to tell them to output to my monitor in a different way (the same way the Road Blaster - Atari System 1 board?)?

I've read up quite a bit on this and I get the feeling that I'm just an idiot.  I've put off asking this question for about 2 weeks.  I can't take it anymore.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Allroy

I had a difficult time hooking up a G07 last time I did it.  If I remember correctly it seems that it required separate syncs, so the jpac would not work.  You are using a breakout cable so you shouldn't have any problem using separate syncs.  The other issue I had I believe was that the horizontal sync had to be hooked up to the negative side of the connector and the vertical sync had to be hooked to the positive side of the connector, or vice versa.   I can't remember for sure.  The one thing I do remember is that it was a pita.

ahh!  the 1 config I haven't tried.   I've hooked both up to +, both up to the - and both up ...just together...somewhere.  I'll give this a shot tonight and hopefully you'll be my savior!
