Possible vector artwork project???
« on: May 25, 2006, 07:55:25 pm »
I have an opportunity to purchase a Midway Sea Wolf from a friend.  The game is in good working order and the artwork is intact.  I am considering getting this game ONLY if it is possible to re-create the original artwork so I can restore this game to like new condition.  Like I said, the artwork is intact, but extremely old and shabby.  Usual scuffs and scrapes with some chipping of the bottom of the cabinet.  I spoke with Snaake from this forum group and he thinks it is do-able, but he believes it to be a large vector project.  I obviously know nothing about vectoring so I'm throwing this out to the group for input.  I know that some of you guys have done some original artwork restoration work and maybe you could give me an idea of what would be involved.  I won't even consider the purchase if this isn't do-able.  I'll attach a pic downloaded from the KLOV site of this game. ???

the project is do-able, it's a large scale project, it will involve a lot of work and time.
but recreating such a piece of art is possible.

for instances it took me month to trace the xevious sideart.

go go buy and trace  :applaud: :applaud:
I'm on the planning stage

I just picked up three sea wolf cabinets. None of them work. But I got them for free. I'm also wondering how to restore the artwork to original condition. Two of the monitors are shot. But I think I could restore one good machine from the parts of all three. I looked at frostilicus' vector tutorial. I'm wondering how to trace the artwork at get it into the computer.

welcome to my world...that is an art that I fear I'll never master!  My hats off to all of the art guys on this forum.  They do great work.  Frosty's tutorial was something that I just couldn't get the hang of.  It is probably easy to most, but it didn't click with me.
