  • MDF nearly killed me!
Since I wrecked my D9200 before I wanted to make sure that that didn't happen again. So I am using these three tools to create a safe windows environement for my D9200. In the order I did it;

1) In 'Safe mode' in Windows, I installed the AVGA + Tri-sync utility.

2)I have then used Refreshforce to set the mode to 640x480x60 manually.
3) Then installed Multires to delete all the resolutions and refresh rates which don't go well together with the D9200.

4) Then I used Powerstrip to have the D9200 recognized as my standard monitor right after start up (setting of 640x480x60 max with a max vertical refresh of 31Khz).

5) After that I used Refreshforce again to have it automatically detect the Ultimarc VGA settings (with the autopopulate function). Which it does. It autopopulates it all the way from 640x480 to 240 x 240 I believe. (the same as the quickres resolutions basically)

Now I am testing the resolutions with the Nokia test program, but everytime I select anything else then 640 x 480 on the quickres Icon at then bottom right part of the screen, the system (and monitor!!) reboot as if it doesn't accept any other resolution. I have the choice of said resolutions (640x480 to 240x240 at 16, 24 and 32 bit color).

Why is it doing that? What am I doing wrong?? I haven't even begun testing mamewah (although I have that pinned down good on my normal PC  :cheers: )

Thanks for your advice! I need it

I have reduced the problem to this;

Once I set the resolution to anything else than 640*480, the PC restarts. I checked this with Mame. For example; 3 in one wonders from CAPCOM works fine, but the NEO GEO games dont. What happens then is that the system loads the roms and when it's time to switch to the right resolution, the PC reboots. Initially I made a mistake with Refreshforce in that I set it to only 640*480 but the problem existed previously as well (when I didn't ever use refreshforce!)

How can I make sure that the PC supports resolutions lower than 640*480 without rebooting???
