I have an NEC 29" that me and Huib1 tried out with Powerstrip to display older games in their native resolution. We could do that with my NEC monitor because it is capable of 15kHz scan rate. The monitor was just way too big for the older games which were designed to be played on a 19" monitor on low resolution. Newer games look pretty good.
I have a 27" JCV TV in my cabinet using RGB component inputs. We did a side by side comparison with the TV (at 640x480) and the NEC monitor (native resolution) and, while there were some noticable differences, I was happy with the TV setup for the older games and the newer games, which looked pretty good on the TV also. Remember, I am using component inputs on the TV, NOT S-video or composite. Component inputs are way better than the S-Video or composite setup.
Your monitor only goes down to 30kHz so you would not be able to do display native resolution for the arcade games anyway. You would use this monitor as a normal PC monitor. So you could play MAME in 800x600 max resolution just like on a regular PC monitor. You could also play modern games like Halo or Doom3 on it at 800x600 max. You could mess with the display settings on the MAME if you wanted to add artificial scan lines. When it comes down to it, the Destination monitor will act like a PC monitor, just a VERY BIG PC monitor

.
This monitor would be a great solution if you were looking to fulfill the following criteria:

HUGE SCREEN!!!

Inexpensive
Plug-and-Play
No ArcadeVGA card or Powerstrip to mess with
Want to play modern games and MAME and maybe VGA capable consoles
Ease of mounting (just build a shelf in your MAME cabinet and plop it on there)
No open frame or mounting brackets to deal with
did I mention

HUGE SCREEN!!!

?
Downsides would be:
No native resolution for arcade games

Only goes up to 800x600, You can get big monitors that will do higher resolution
You may get motion sickness from playing modern first-person shooter games

As for my NEC 29" Multisync presentation monitor, it is residing on my gaming PC so I can play Painkiller and Tron 2.0 in full 29" (27" viewable), 1024x768 glory.

It will probably find its way into a future full-sized MAME cabinet. But for now, the 27" JVC TV with component inputs does extremely well for my current MAME cabinet.
