Info requested: Gyruss boards
« on: May 08, 2006, 11:55:22 am »
dial-up sucks!!!!!!
at a friends house here looking around for some Gyruss info and it took a good 20 minutes just to log on.
I still can't believe i had the patience for this.

anyway, i'm looking at 2 boards to  decide which to buy. Both work. One has a sound issue which is no big deal(bacground music plays fast if anyone has suggestions on that).

Anyway, the question i have.
both boards are the same except one has a black and a red wire attaching the 2 boards (aside from the 2 ribbon cables). The other board has a spot for it but it is unused( CN2 i believe).
no big deal, but i was curious about it. If one is a better version, i would rather take it.
thanks

i oculdn't stand it over there any longer with dial-up!  i'm on my system now going through the archives, but i'll still take info on the sound issue if anyone has any.

Also, i did end up getting both boards. Both have the usual burn marks on the edge connector but I'm wondering were there any other quirks that maybe one of these boards has that the other may not.

My Gyruss has the two wires.  I presumed it was power, but I could be wrong.  Since the boards worked (after I fixed the edge connector) I haven't messed with it anymore.
