My new TRON based CP
« on: May 03, 2006, 02:15:21 pm »
Well, I have been working on this idea for a while and though I'm not finished yet, I figured I'd post my progress and see what you all think. The artwork is really what's holding me up. It took a long time to get the artwork for the lower area figured out and finished and now, I'm on to the upper area. This is where I could use some suggestions. I would like the upper area to be different from the lower while still maintaining the TRON theme. Any suggestions, comments, criticism or advice is certainly welcome provided that it isn't "start all over" haha. Anyhow, hope you like it. I have more pics of the construction process as well if you want to see them but figured these gave the overall idea of how it went.

Dude, cool as hell. I like it a lot.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...

How can your subject say "My new TRON based CP" and then no show a picture of a Tron joystick  :badmood:

Just joking :).  I think the CP is looking good.

Very neat. I think I would continue the same theme on top, but with a red emphasis. It would show the two opposing sides in the movie (red and blue). Are more controls going on top?

Definitely liking the idea of having the picture of Tron lifting his disc skyward. Also liking the idea of having the red/blue theme on top. Other thing I was thinking of was having some of the original cab artwork up there somehow. Any thoughts on how to implement any of that? If I had the Tron pic in there I think I would put it directly over the trackball sort of center stage then work the rest around that. I'm planning on adding the tron sticks somewhere but I'm not sure that I'll have room for it. Friend of mine thinksit'll be a sacrilige to not put it somewhere but, again I don't want to cramp what I have so far. I'm really happy with it at this point and just want to keep the momentum. Kind of going for a classic meets modern thing here. Thanks for the input so far it's getting the creative juices flowing.
