$0.75 for a coin door?  Great find.  I paid $25 for my last one.  How much was shipping?

I was about to ask the same thing, but it seems Coder is faster than I  :-\

I'm never that lucky with ebay.  The best I could get was around 50$  :dunno
next time, I'll ask you guys to bet on my behalf.

I saw you didn't connect the coin counter.  In my case, I couldn't resist and built a small circuit for it (1 transistor, 4 diodes and 1 resistor).  I will probably not use it, but it was there asking to be operational  >:D

cheers
Jay

The story is better than you think... the auction actually won for $1 USD, and the pickup was local and thus free (ok, minus the gas but it was only like 30 min away).

When I got it home and was cleaning it up, I found another quarter lodged in the coin acceptor!  Hence, $0.75

Best find I'VE had on Ebay...

I saw no need to hookup the counter, I just use the ones readily available via MAME Game Information for each rom.

nice story and as you said "great find".

In my project, I'm connecting my 12V counter to only count "real" quarters.
My goal is to use as much as possible the real coins instead of the bypass button.

It will be a way to put aside some money for our vacation trips....

That was in fact one of the argument that allowed to start this project and install the cabinet in my living room  ;D

Good idea but I doubt we'd save up enough money that way in my house.
Our idea is to use it to limit the kids' play time when they get older... or maybe as a piggy bank for them when they get their allowance.
