Police Trainer - Fix/Restoration Project
« on: April 29, 2006, 10:07:37 pm »
I picked up this cabinet earlier today (the same one from this thread). It's a Mortal Kombat II, converted to a Police Trainer. 72,785 clicks on the coin counter. Its home was Six Flags Magic Mountain, until the previous owner bought it. It has spent the last year or so sitting in a storage unit, collecting dust. He put it in there after the monitor suddenly stopped working. Everything else seems to still work fine, just the monitor is dead.

Overall though, I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the cabinet. By his description, I was expecting it be trashed. While it was quite dirty, it's not in too bad of shape for what it is. It will need new t-molding (in the correct color), some touch-up paint, and some artwork redone, but it shouldn't be too bad.

So, now it

Great find! It looks to be in great shape. It did clean up pretty nicely. You'll have to post the monitor trouble shooting progress thoroughly here. I'm real curious to see how this comes out. It would be great if it was an easy fix after the guy jacked up the price on you like that....

Wow Congrats!! That looks like it will be a fun project and it has a cool story behind it. I am surprised at the condition. I am glad to see something like that go to a BYOAC member after serving in 6 flags.
