Quick (Hopefully) Mamewah question! (With picture!)
« on: April 15, 2006, 01:19:03 pm »
Hi all, I recently upgraded my romset from .81 to .104 and in the process decided to switch from mamewah 1.51 to 1.61.  As a whole I'm very satisfied with the result, it is a good bit better but I've run into one problem that I can quite figure out. I think i'm just missing a set.  In my previous setup of Mamewah, when I generated a list and filtered the clones, the games would just say for example "Street Figher II" but now they say "Street Fighter II (World)"  Is there any way to remove that extra parenthesis?  I had done it before.  My friends when they see "1942 (Japan)."  Where is the english version?  Thanks!  I'm sure this is simple.

Oh yeah, I should add, i found a mamewah 1.61 configuration utility to do my configs.  I forget what it was called but it made setup a breeze.  it would download the configs from the web, I believe JCrouses website.

Nate

I don't think you can filter out the "extras" in the "All Games" list.  If you create a sublist (say 8-Way Joystick Games) and then filter out the clones, the "extras" will not be there.

Yes, the extras can be filtered out, using my ListGen utility. That way you get Pacman, but not a gazillion versions of Pacman. If you filter out the clones you don't get pacman at all.

I will be creating an article on how to do this on the Mamewah wiki page.

I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Please read the wiki!

I think he's only talking about filtering out the display of the extras...maybe I misunderstood though?

Generate a filtered list, and (beforehand) ensure that 'display_clone_info 0' is set in the relevant ini file.
