have you tried the focus pot on the lopti/flyback transformer, the width problem could be the pot/coil adjusted badly or a transistor,i can't remember which transistor but i will check for on tuesday when the world returns to work-in the mean time try adjusting your focus pot

As far as I know he does NOT operate a message board. He does have a link to the Star Tech Journal's message board (not owned or run by him). He visits and posts messages there, but it costs money for ordinary people to access that.

Normally these flybacks crack just above the pots , You will need to move the metal surround away from the front of the flyback to see this properly.
If you see a crack it will need to be replaced , Part number is MSH1FPU07 .

If you don't see any cracks the problem is more than likely the CRT socket on the neckboard , these corrode internally and only noticeable if you look where the focus wire connects to the focus pin , it will look slightly green in color.

As for the H-Size there is a single pin jumper that can be moved to adjust the size in steps , it's located beside the flyback in the power supply section. ( The wire is Red ) it can be on N =Narrow , M-Medium or , W=Wide.

Sorry I dont have any Nanao manuals or Schematics , the copied versions I have seen from internal sources are very bad quality and were never made public.
There is nothing a manual or schematic could do to help with the problems you are having anyway , so I wouldn't be to worried about it.

That clicking sound is 100% a crack in the flyback , it is arcing to the metal surround at the front of the flyback  , this is the most common fault with these chassis.
If you leave it like this or try operating for to long it will also damage the Sync hybrid IC
