Hi, ive just installed an 8liners chassis to my 25" crt and when i plug it in is it unusual that a high pitch whining noise comes from the back of the arcade?

First thing to check is make sure the high voltage ("anode") connector under the rubber suction cup is securely fastened. Second thing is check to be sure all wiring is bundled properly & neatly. Third thing to check is if all the electrical and frame grounds are properly connected. Fourth thing is that you may just be hearing the high frequency vibrations of the flyback transformer (some people can and some people can't hear it).

oh, yea and i also have a weird squiggly line theat is barely noticable on the left side of the crt about 2 inches away from the side of the crt....could this be a bad solder joint when i soldered the new RGBY plug to the yoke?

Sounds like a horizontal linearity adjustment problem.

Adjust horizontal linearity control and/or horizontal size (a.k.a. width).

Sounds like barreling. I think that is the correct term for what you are describing. Screen kinda has a barrel shape. It is the opposite of pincushioning which would be larger on the sides and shrunk in the middle. I don't remember if there was a cure for this and if so what it was.
Check the comparison page for chassis replacement in the Monitor fax.
