Spyware problem
« on: April 11, 2006, 04:40:59 pm »
I apparently have a spyware program on my PC. Its called EbatesMoneyMaker. I keep seeing it in my task manager, and everytime I try to end it, it restarts. Even when I use End It All, it still lives. I've dealt with this program before, but in the past, Spybot was able to remove it. For some reason now, Spybot doesn't see it as being bad. Any suggestions?

Or try Google.
The first few hits seem to be what you need.  If that fails then I'd suggext a hjt log.

See if adaware will get it  http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/   I use both adaware and spybot because neither get everything.

I second the motion to always use both.

Also, check your start-up config and see if anything related to it is in there.

(Click START, select RUN, type "msconfig")

If so, disable the entry, and restart the computer. Hopefully it won't start the adware. Then you should have better luck removing it.
NO MORE!!
