Marquees in a cabinet are backlit by using a flourescent fixture.

They are probably saying not to backlight because their inks are so transparent it will look all faded.
NO MORE!!

Are you sure you read that right? They clearly say that the materials they use are ideal for backlighting:
Quote
Marquees are available in a special backlit material, white plastic styrene, self adhesive vinyl, plexiglas, and tempered glass. We do not print marquees on paper.

Yeah, they also told me that my art wasn't printed on an ink jet(which it was) and told me that my untrimmed Q*bert side art was "supposed to be that way"

Do a little search on here to see what others think of their quality. I dare ya.

hmm...I am a big fan of classicarcadegraphix.com and they came through for me in both my full art set for my mame invaders and most recently my mini Ms. Pac.

My back lit marquee's look great on both...so I for one was really pleased with their service, quality and final product.

....check out RetroBlast's reviews on them and other similar vendors. There are definitely choices out there.....and Kevin lists a few with high res close ups of the art for you to check out.

I'm pretty sure Classicarcadegraphix.com will also send you samples before they print for a really small fee (postage generally).

But again, that was my personal experience....see my mame invaders here =

Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?
