Hey Guys,

I just replaced my Hantarex chassis with a Wei Ya from Alva.  I powered it up and nothing exploded  :D but all I get is a single vertical line in the center on the monitor.  I can see a little bit of street fighter vs capcom going on in my single line but it's still not too useful.  I tried switching around the rgb cables but that didn't help.  Any Ideas what might be going on?

I tried searching but didn't find anything that seemed to apply.

Thanks a lot!  This site has been really helpful!

something to do with your scan coils by the looks of it.

I assume you measured the Hantarex's yoke resistance before ordering the Wei-ya replacement? This was done to ensure you ordered the correct chassis.

Hantarex used a different color scheme for their yoke wiring:

Brown and red wires are the vertical deflection section on the yoke.

Orange and yellow wires are the horizontal deflection section on the yoke.

The replacement chassis has the standardized yoke color scheme of red & blue for horizontal section and green & yellow for vertical section.

Hey, thanks for the replies.

I remeasured the vertical resistance and got 5.5 Ohms.  Raul at Alva says the 826HR chassis I bought will work with 5.5.  Am I missing something?  Do you guys think this might be a yoke or tube problem?  Or is it more likely that I somehow messed up the chassis during the install process.  Maybe my isolation transformer?

Thanks a lot you guys, I have no idea what I'm doing  :)

Are you sure the yoke wires are connected properly to the new chassis? Remember the color code is different (Hantarex always had to be different than everyone else).

This link shows how the 826 chassis is connected to a Wells-Gardner monitor but it should give you some guidance with your Hantarex:

Alright that was it, I had everything wired in reverse, thanks Ken.  Everything's working perfectly with my streetfighter pcb, the monitor pops when I try to load up the mame machine, but I think it's a driver issue.

Thanks Again!
