Latest.

And remember, Celeron Processors are weak for MAME.
Recommended MAME processors are:P4/AthlonXP/Athlon64/Opteron.

really :dizzy:
why do you say that.
I allways here  "Celeron Processors are weak" I have yet to have a problem with them
honestly. video edit, DVD copy, emu's
the works.  never a problem because of CPU.
every problem I  have, ends up because of ME or Micro$oft
not Celeron Processors.
mind you , I am not a PC expert ... just a above average user
in short. every one at work comes to me for help...
I have no one but here to come for help

Now if you are going to tell me a Pent. chip is a few nano seconds  faster.
who cares.

I want to know a real hard reason why a Pentium Chip is worth the $$$
over a Celeron Processors,

I shelled out the fund with a 600 meg Pent chip
ran my programs with a 500 meg chip a few years ago
nothing differant I could tell

I tried a few AMD chips....
I like Intel better ( just me, though... If some one gave me a AMD chip , I would not snub my nose to it.)

as far as the question above. Yes you have one of the most powerfull systems out. go for the newest Mame

I have Celeron - it's totally crap for MAME. It's weak. Games speed are catastrophe.

According to that link, your Celeron is a 1 gHz machine.  The original poster's 3 + gHz machine should be just fine.

Yes, my Celeron is 1GHz. But I don't talk about my Celeron ;) I talk about all Celerons.

What about compare P4 3Ghz and Celeron 3GHz ? :D
I'm interesting about speed for example in:
1. Brave Blade
2. Xevious3D

I have Athlon XP 2,4GHz too, 2 weeks ago I tested Athlon 64 3200+ and what I can say: these CPUs are to weak for BB and X3D.
I prepare for change CPU for MAME, and I can say 3 words only: "Intel Pentium only". ;)

The guy asked about HIS machine, which happens to be a 3+ GHZ celeron.  It will be fine for use in the current MAME version regardless of your preference in processor.

I would say none.  ;D

Seriously, just get the version that matches your ROMs, and only update if you update your ROMs.
I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Please read the wiki!
