Japanese Candy cab monitor - Transistor needed

I'm hoping one of the monitor bods on here might be able to point me in the right direction for a Transistor that is needed to repair a Capcom Impress Monitor that had 230v inputted rather than the 110v, subsequently the incorrect voltage has damaged the chassis.

unfortunately I dont have a manual or data for the monitor chassis in question, and neither myself or the person doing the repair are %100 sure who the manufacturer is, but we thinks is "TOEI"

the transistor I'm after is an "FN651" - again, unsure of specs as no documentation etc.

I understand the part is available in the US, i'll try to get details of the site later, but theres a chance they wont ship to UK, if this is the case I was again hoping one of the BYOAC Mob or monitor Guru's might be able to help me out

I've found several instances of "FN651 Transistor" on Google, but it doesn't cross with anything in my NTE software and I haven't found it at any component vendors.

It's not looking too good.

I did a little digging on it,  it looks like FN651 was manufactured by Sanken for Hitatchi and is considered "no longer available" via Hitatchi or the usual dist channels.

It doesn't come up in cross references to other manufacturers and I couldn't come up with a datasheet for it either, so figuring out a suitable replacement will be impossible.

You'll have to contact some vendors directly and see if they can source one for you.  You may also want to try a Hitatchi repair shop or parts vendor.

Toei is not exactly a monitor that's popular in the USA. It's very hard to find manuals/schematics. If they used a custum made transistor then you're screwed if it can't be obtained.

A suggestion would be to scrap the Toei chassis and get a Wei-ya replacement chassis from Alva Amusement instead.

Ah, good call.  I forgot about them.  They are even on my website's links page... the only place in the states that carried the amplifier chip for a board I needed to repair.
