Mamewah Random Launches
« on: March 25, 2006, 01:50:24 pm »
This is really wierd.  I'll launch Mamewah (and for purposes of this discussion I have been using a real keyboard - not an ipac or joytokey or anything) launch a game, play it, and exit back to mamewah.  Sometimes Mamewah will freak out and upon hitting ANY key (esc, arrows, 1, 2, ANYTHING) it will relaunch the game.  When it does this I get stuck in a loop and have to reboot.  It doesn't do it all the time, only say 25% of the time and it's emulator independent (happens on z26 and Nestopia - all I have loaded so far).  I'm running version 1.62b10.

I thought it was something to do with a screensaver (happens more ofter if I let it sit for awhile and almost alway happens a game after the screensaver is used).  I turned that off, the windows screensaver, all power savings in windows.  Still happens.

Any ideas??  This is frustrating!!!!

Thanks.

Sounds to me like you might be using the {autodosbox} flag - this should only be used for MAME (& not required for recent versions).

Try {dosbox} or {nodobox} instead.

I'll post my configs when I get if that will help...

It wasn't the dosbox thing because one was setup with "nodosbox" and the other with "dosbox".  I wasn't using the auto.

I was using the "safelaunch" if that matters.  Took that out and things still load correctly....so maybe that will fix it?

Shouldn't matter...if you omit {safelaunch} (& don't use {nosafelaunch}) then {safelaunch} is defaulted to anyway.
