Newbie Needs FE Help
« on: February 23, 2003, 08:28:55 pm »
I am running MAME and other eumus on a standard PC monitor and am currently trying to configure ArcadeOS.  Is this a recommended fe to use or is there something else I should be looking at?  I don't plan to use a real arcade monitor in the near future so that's not really a consideration in my fe choice.

If AOS is a good choice I have a question.  I had it working fine with MAME v. 36.  I just upgraded to MAME v. 55 and now I can't figure out how to get AOS to work correctly with it.  I made sure the paths were correct in ArcadeOS.cfg, but AOS only lists 12 games.  I set to show "all" games (horiz, vert...), but there are only 12 listed (I have a couple hundred roms in the rom directory).  What could the problem be?  Thanks for the help - this is driving me crazy.

Are you running windows, or DOS?  There are lots of choices for either.  Personally I prefer GameLauncher for DOS (also works in Windows) and EmuLoader for Windows.

Thanks for the tip.  I tried GameLauncher and it worked perfectly.  I'm using Win 98 at home and XP at work.  GameLauncher works on both without any problems.

Now if I could just figure out how to configure Genecyst to exit with a single keypress...

Thanks again.
