My Metal Gear vector WIP *finished*
« on: March 20, 2006, 04:49:16 pm »
I don't know if anyone remembers, but a while back I did a Solid Snake vector to use as sideart for my arcade cab's right side. Since then, my ambitions have increased, and I decided that I'm going to go with almost full-sized side art, and to do that I needed to come up with a backdrop for my Snake image to go in front of. And part of it is going to be the Metal Gear from the first game. I drew the picture in pencil, scanned it, and then traced it in Adobe Illustrator. Next step will be coloring it.

To give you some idea as to what the final side art might resemble, I've also included an in-complete "mockup" image to demonstrate what I'm going for. :)

Well, I started doing some coloring yesterday, so I thought I'd do a little progress report. It's not even close to finished, but it's definately shaping up. I started adding one of the shading layers, but as you can see it's incomplete right now. It shouldn't take too long to finish, as long as I don't get distracted and find some actual time to work on it! ;)

I also started doing a vector side-art image of Big Boss last night, to compliment the Solid Snake image I already have. I won't be able to finish the lineart until sometime on or after friday, because I based it off of a picture of Sean Connery's face (just like how Snake was based of of Michael Beihn), and now I need my brother to model for the rest of his body since I had a very specific pose in mind for the image. I was able to finsih his head though, and I think it's looking pretty good so far.

Sure, I have no qualms with people using my images. I just need to figure out where I can host 'em. In the mean time, you can drop me an IM and I can transfer directly. ;)

I just remembered... I actually have a webspace where I can host the stuff. I'll keep them there until I get an actual website for my project up and running and I can host them there. It's a real shame about the AAL-- I really hope they get up and running again sometime in the future!
