MAME32: Enable joysitck or lightgun input, the app will no longer run games?

I just setup a new PC with MAME32 1.04 -

FOr some reason, if I enable joysitck input and / or lightgun input, the app will no longer run games.

It just runs the popup showing the rom being loaded, then goes back to the mame32 app window.

Anyone seen this before?

I presume you meanv0.104?...

It sounds to me like your roms are bad/outdated.  Check them with ClrMAMEPro.

Also try running with official commandline MAME...if there is a problem (like with your roms as I suspect) it will report this back to you.

Correct on the version and that is odd. Outdated roms would cause them not to run ONLY if these options are checked?

No, they wouldn't run at all...

Best thing as I say is run from a commandline and MAME will report back the problem.
