child proofing cab with mamewah
« on: March 14, 2006, 06:59:40 pm »
This past weekend I had several kid cousins playing my cab.  They managed to not only jump from screen to screen (switching between emulators), but they removed my background layout back to the generic no-background layout from the initial install.

I'm running Mamewah and want to know if anyone has a way to make a cab more child proof.

Ideally, the only options a player would have is to change games within the current list, start, pause and exit.

Also of note, I do have the menu lock option on.

Thanks.

This is a good question.  I am sure there is a way to remap keys, but I haven't spent much time looking in to it.

The worst one of all you ask?  There is a button on my panel (one of the "pinball") buttons, that when pushed, completely REMOVES the game from my list.  This happens in a blink of an eye so I never even know what game was wiped out!!!

I need to look into that one, because as you can imagine losing games doesn't make me happy.   :-\

Remap your keys in the ctrlr file to remove all unneccessary shortcuts.
