Super Mario Brothers Race

Wow....Any SMB fans have to check out this speed-run.  What makes it unique is that its done by two people, at the same time, racing one another.

Definitely a cool video with a photo finish.

Too cool.  Brings back a lot of memories of sitting around till all hours of the night playing Mario.  We never finished the game in 6 minutes tho!

If you think that si cool you HAVE to check out this SMB3 time attack video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ras23YC9UvE&search=mario%203

This guys whips through it like lightning and has some mad skillz on the floating battle ship levels enabling him to get over the 99 lives that it is possible to get.

Only problem is that it's a fake, and he used an emulator to do it.

Oh thats a shame, certainly had me fooled, although I did think it was a bit TOO ridiculous.

Just out of interest, how did he fake it? Did he keep saving sections he had perfected and then splice them together?

Yeah...a combination of save states and slowing the frame rate down.  But, you have to have the whole thing memorized even with those things helping you...

Ok, I missed what is the super jump the one guy makes but the other opts out of.  I'm sorry to say that I don't know SM well enough to tell which is level 8.  I was a PC gamer even then.

Oh, and someone should link to that video of one guy playing both sides of an overhead shooter cabinet.

its the second level after he takes the secret warp pipe.  The second pipe brings him to world 8, and 8-2 is the second level in that world (obviously)

The jump is one of the very first jumps in the level where he jumps Mario under/over the dropping spike guys.  It's the first few seconds of the level, around 3:30 in the video.  Rewind it and watch each screen seperately... you'll understand.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.
