Adding -bios us to a game in mamewah (should be EASY)
« on: February 26, 2006, 10:40:55 pm »
I know this is simple but I can't seem to find the answer.  What do I need to change in order to run die hard with the -bios us option if using mamewah?  Thanks.

ps- I hope this game actually runs well...

that's not how the "bios" tag works in mame.  afaik it's "bios 0" for default bios or "bios 1" for alternate bios.

Also mamewah has absolutely nothing to do with your mame settings.  go to your mame.ini and set it there.  If you want to set the bios for just that game then make a new ini in your "inis" folder in mame and set it there.

hmm ok well I see differently at http://www.mame.net/mamefaq.html#i05

so if i make a new ini file, or at least use the one thats there for diehard.ini, what is the line i need to add in there?  It does not have what looks like a path if I am remembering correctly.

I can double check for you, but although the mame docs say you can define a bios name, I've never gotten it to work, save the 1 0 thing I mentioned (which works for playchoice and megatech).

Yeah you make a diehard.ini and simply put a "bios 1" or "bios us" or whatever works in the ini and nothing else.  Just make sure the ini path in your mame.ini is defined (by default I think the ini folder is commented out).

update.... apparently typing the bios type DOES work for diehard.

To do it for all the stv games make a stv.ini instead (that's the driver name) and then you won't have to waste time hunting and pecking.
