Las Vegas - Pinball Hall of Fame
« on: February 26, 2006, 03:30:25 am »
Just a heads up for those in the Vegas area, the Pinball Hall of Fame is now open. Stopped by there tonight with a few friends and had a blast. As the name says, it's pretty much all pinball machines(there's a list of em all on the site), but there are a handful of other novelty games as well as a corner that he'll be filling with classic arcade cabinets(tonight I saw Tempest, Major Havok, a pong game, Space Invaders, Frogger, Asteroids, and a few others).

No sign out front, but once you're in the parking lot it's really hard to miss.

The PHoF is a non-profit org, all proceeds after base costs go to the local Salvation Army.

Yes, it is a nice place.  ;D

They have had some difficulty advertising and getting the word out that they are open. I have a suggestion: CBS News' Steve Hartman does "Assignment America" where you write in and suggest stories for him to cover. His editors pick the three top stories and the public votes on which one gets covered this week. Please email assignment@cbsnews.com and suggest Steve Hartman do an Assignment America story about the Pinball Hall of Fame.

Heh, yeah, I agree. Even something temporary until funds are there for a real sign. Right now it's all word of mouth, or people noticing the pins as they leave the nearby dollar cinema or comic shop...

I ordered the Pins and Vids DVD: http://www.pinsandvids.com/ for $6 (all profits goto the Pinball Hall of Fame).

All and all a bit cheesey, but the interview with Tim Arnold while he works on his pins was worth it!  That guy is a true hero!

That's a coincidence.  I just ordered the TOP #1 video myself.  I guess that's another $8 towards a sign.  ;D
