getting MCM to work
« on: February 22, 2006, 08:03:41 pm »
Alright I would like to use MCM to remove the adult content off my computer. I can not get it to work. I get it to come up and it asks for my rom path and my path to MCM and then asks what I want to do then it says it does it but no change.
I am running mame 103 on an XP OS. I run Mamewah as a front end. YES I did try to regenerate the list in Mamewah.
Could it have something to do with my rioms and stuff being on my extra drive E? I don't know how this would affect it since I show it where they are. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I hate to suggest yet another new tool, but ListGen can do this pretty easily for you AND generate the list for MAMEWAH at the same time...

Well I got it to work! I am very pleased! My husband informed me the other day that my 6yo son was playing a puzzle game! Needless to say I worked on the cab today to figure that all out. The problem was that I thought it was asking for my rom path. I didn't read the line slow enough. it just asks for the path to MAME. So I fixed that! That is a cool program! I didn't know there was Italian and french quiz games on there! Now there isn't! I may go through and pick out some more games I don't need.
Pretty soon I am going to try to do a cocktail cab. Thius being my first cab I am learning all the little things on this then will move on to the next one!
Thanks for all the help!
Screaming: Listgen looks a little to dificult to me. I am just not computer savvy AT ALL!!! I could not enter in all the codes and stuff and know what I was doing! I liked MCM cquse it was as he said "like a wizard" I assumed he meant like an install wizard that walks you through everything step by step and you don't really have to be smart to do it! I fit into that catagory! Thanks for the help though I appreciate the effort.
