monitor not working?
« on: February 22, 2006, 05:54:05 pm »
so here goes:

I recently snatched a street fighter II arcade from someones trash a week ago. i plugged it in and held the power button in the back in while it started (if i let it go it turns off) after a little bit i could here music and whatnot and when i got to the front to look at the screen theres only one thin line of light/colors going down the middle then black on either side. i see the colors changing as if the games running and i hit the buttons and joystick and i hear sound recognizing there being pressed. is the monitor no good or maybe a loose cable or somehting else i need to do? im curious if theres a chance that i can get it to work. thank you for the responses

Pulling outward on the back door "interlock" switch bypasses it for servicing the machine.

First thing to do is look for obvious problems on the monitor: loose cables & connectors. Next thing to do is identify the specific make & model of the monitor. What size is the picture tube, 19" or 25" (diagonal measurement just like tv sets)?
