Pirates of the Revolution
« on: February 22, 2006, 12:21:56 pm »
While I was waiting in line at Walgreens I saw this game.

Pirates of the Revolution

I bought a pack.  There wasn't a price near it so I didn't know how much it was until she rang it up.  I figured it was under 2 bucks, but it was over 4.
... anyway I opened it up read the rules and figured it would be a good game to play with all my nieces and nephews, the problem is it costs over 4 bucks for 2 ships.  I looked on ebay and amazon and a box of cards is over a hindered bucks.  Does anyone on this board knows where I can get a set for a reasonable price?

Thanks

my buddy plays it and says its very fun.  I haven't tried it.  I'm loathe to try new collectible card games though, as I used to spend stupid cash on Magic

hell yeah, I'm with you.

If this is a new hot card game, you won't find them cheap.... you just won't.  I'm just glad I was never able to add up all the Magic cards I bought.... I could have had so many arcade machines.  I probably could have even had a cheap car.

And I used to play Overpower too.. oh man... so much money :(    I'm gonna go whimper in the corner for a bit.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

just wait a year and you'll find people dieing to sell you theirs because yu gi oh extreme 3 featuring pokemon powerup combos just came out.  there so smart they want to buy the ones in japanese and will sell you theres (all 3000 cards) for 5 dollars.

card games are scams really.  they require you to spend vast amounts of money for a few decent cards and the rest of them being worthless then the paper they are made of.  the only one i ever thought to be good was magination and magic.

If you live in northern Illinois there is a comic book store called "Something Wicked" in Evanston.  It's going out of business, so I bought 20 packs for 25 bucks.  Since this Pirate thing is still newish that's as low as they would go for me.  There was a box labeled $1 pack and $2 box full of Magic and assorted other packs.  They also have hard cover comic books for 40% off.  I don't know anything about comic books so I couldn't tell you if the prices are good or not.

Comic shops and comic book convensions are a good place to find those things cheap. There is going to be a Wizard world con in Chicago in august, if you want to wait that long to play. :o Your local comic shop should know of the smaller shows though.

"hindered" bucks??

Does the forum software like to change words on people just for fun, or did he really type that?  :P

Hey, anyone know where I can look up Magic card values? I have cards I bought in early 90's. Never touch em.
NO MORE!!

who said that?

anycraze.com has prices though they are a retailer and most certainly have inflated prices.  i really dont know anyone in my town that still plays magic.  most have cards but dont play even though about a 2 years ago it had a resurecction.

one of the main problems is the cards that are in the first sets are usually made useless due to later sets.  that and the commons.

I heard an essay on NPR a few days ago about that store going out of business.  Shame....probably brought them all kinds of business.....just too late.

I was really into the Whitewolf CCG, Rage back in college. Fortunately for me they decided to stop making them and all the stores were dumping inventory. I have like two shoeboxes full to the brim with those cards that I got for next to nothing. If you are patient and observant you can sometimes get really good deals!
