1992 RCA 27" monitor
« on: February 21, 2006, 11:07:44 am »
I want to convert my Dungeons & Dragons to a mame. It has a 1992 27" RCA Arcade Monitor tube type A63ADT10X05, model # P3-E05CM31. The monitor would work for about 15 minutes and then would just shut down.  Any suggestions on what to check ? Does anyone have any tech specs on this model ?

Thanks.

RCA does NOT make commercial arcade game monitors.

That's the info I got from the monitor. Any suggestions on what to check for the black out after 15 minutes ?

Please tell us the brand of your chassis. I highly doubt the picture tube is behind your issue. I believe you have a Wells Gardner chassis, but we need to know the model of it. RCA/Thomson used to supply some monitor manufacturers.

if your monitor is cutting out after a short time you are looking at a heat related problem,if its an old chassis its likely either to be a dry joint on  one of the componants or a electrolitic cap.start looking for dry joints especially round the lopti,if none found then get a cap kit.

if you have a hantarex polo 1 chassis all the parts you need can be purchased at any componant dealer,if your in the u.k someone like maplins.when your monitor cuts out do hear a ticking from the chassis or can you see an orange glow from the tube neck?

The Hantarex distributor in the USA is the R.H. Belam Company (www.belamny.com) .

When the monitor cuts out, I don't see an Orange glow or ticking.

now your fault lends itself to being a dry joint, probably on your lopti(flyback transformer)
