Stuff I hauled home from work.
« on: February 20, 2006, 10:35:07 pm »
After selling three of my cabinets, I got a bit lonely. So I went out and got more cabinets.

I nabbed a S.T.U.N. Runner for 150$. It didn't fit in my van, so I tied it in using about 400 yards of rope. The center of gravity was well on the OUTSIDE of the van, so I am grateful that it didn't fall out onto the interstate. Once I opened it up, I discovered that this is the EXACT SAME S.T.U.N. Runner that was in the arcade that I used to work at in about 1992 (my manager would get fancy with the letterings on the cash boxes). Funny how things come full circle. Still in pretty good shape, but I went and bought a NOS seat and back decal.

Next up, I got an old ARDAC changer. Some of you might remember these... instead of inserting a bill in to a slot that would then suck it in, this changer has a shelf that the customer would set the dollar in to and slide it in to the machine. I have NEVER worked on one of these, and I haven't even plugged it in yet (cord has been cut) but I am hoping to rig it so my guests can simply slide the shelf in and receive 20 tokens without a dollar (Does anyone have any hands-on experience with this style changer? I only have dealt with Rowe). This machine is also still LOCKED so I haven't seen inside of it yet. Drilling out plug locks is a real pain in the arse and it's something I haven't had time to do just yet. The changer was free, as I salvaged it from alongside the dumpster.

I kinda like those old style changers better.  Kind of like when slot machines had arms to pull.   ;D
