Adjusting colors on Hantarex Monitor
« on: February 20, 2006, 02:17:22 pm »
OK, I got the following set-up started up recently:

- ArcadeVGA
-J-pac
-Hantarex Arcade Monitor

I have a feeling the colors are off. Seems the red is to low level. There is a series of 3 pot-meters on the main PCB of the monitor that can be adjusted with one "handle" all 3 together. Now, how should I "turn-up" the red a bit seperatly ? I prefer not to have to do this on the neckboard.

Could the video amp on the J-pac be defective ? (bought it new though).

Do I actualy need the amplification of the VGA signal on the J=pac ? Andy indicates on his site that some Hantarec monitors need only 1V signal. However, this monitor is an "oldie".

you have there either a mtc900 or mtc9000,the pot you refer to is your contrast-it is designed to bring all your colours up at the same level(dont use this for one colour underdriving).now if its a mtc9000 which i suspect it is you will find your 3 colour adjustments on the neck card-you will find 3 pots upright close to the edge of the card which are your colour gains(foreground) there are also 3 other pots mounted flat to the card which are your background.to get a spot on picture you need to adjust these one by one incorpating adjustment of contrast and brightness/screen volts controls.
if you have an mtc900 then you colour adjustments are on the main chassis,if i can remember correctly they are small pots near the contrast control-you will have to forgive me i have not worked on an mtc900 for about 15 years :o
