I too have that intro movie.
(which by the way is an awesome intro movie to load before MameWah comes up....tres cool).
I use FFDshow filters to decode avi's. They normally work just fine for playing almost all movie files. And I can watch that intro movie just fine....when Windows is already booted.
But....
I have shelled MameWah and before MameWah comes up it plays the intro movie.
And yes...the movie can stutter and freeze. Sometimes it plays just fine and looks awesome (clean, clear and fullscreen). But often it freezes at a specific point in the movie and then MameWah comes up.
I think its not so much a movie problem (corrupt movie or a problem with codecs or filters....though I do suppose that's a possibility).
I think it's simply (for me at least) that it's set to run while the OS is still booting components of the system.
It seems that there is just too many things the computer is doing at that moment for the movie file to run smoothly.
I suppose that turning off components that Windows is loading would help. There are a lot of postings around and lots of articles on the net concerning turning off components in Windows to speed booting and increase performance.
I personally have ceased to care too much. While it looks cool when it runs smoothly I have become averse to mucking around too much more with my system.
I find the more I try to
improve the system the more headaches I make for myself.
That being said....looking at your avi file information....
You may want to download the FFDShow filters for decoding movie files
