How do you all have your screens sized?
« on: February 19, 2006, 09:48:53 am »
I'm not sure if this is a software issue or adjustment. I have a horizontal 15kHz arcade monitor and am trying to get it set up to play vertical games too. Games which run in 288 lines vertically are cut off at the bottom such as Galaga and Pacman. I have re-sized the screen so that 288 line games are displayed fully. Some horizontal games like the Street Fighter 2 series still take up the whole screen and look perfect where as others have top and bottom borders (Final Fight, Track & Field etc.)
Am I right in thinking that the screen in each of the original cabinets is adjusted to maximum whatever the resolution. So by trying to get the best of all worlds you have to sacrifice by having top and bottom borders or a cut off display to play horizontal/vertical and 240+ Line games?
I prefer to have it set the way it is at present as I'm not getting any missed lines or crummy aspects. Is there a better way?

I run my monitor at aprox 280 visible lines in the middle which means approx 260 visible lines in the corners.
