Is IPAC + console adapters good choice for P360 arcade stick??
« on: February 14, 2006, 08:44:24 pm »
I want to build my own arcade stick and I'm thinking of using IPAC with console adapters. The only thing that worries me is P360 joystick compatibility. As we all know, p360 is a optical joystick and it need 5v power.

As for now, I've checked many forums and other sources and building arcade stick with hacked ps1 pad gives some unexpected voltage problems. I want to use my stick with PC and PS2 and XBOX. But I have to be sure it works on every of those systems. Dreamcast compatibility would be nice but it's now necessary.

I know Andy is working on DC compatibility. I hope he can create xbox 360 adapter for IPAC soon, DOA4 is a killing beast.

Returning to main subject, does anybody having p360 stick connected to IPAC and then to console adapter? Does it work properly?? I'll be very gateful for any reply.

Maybe you know how to create p360 arcade stick using ps1 pad but making voltage so good and stabilised so it works with some adaptors like ps-xbox and ps-usb??

Hello guys,

Has nobody use IPAC with console adapters (especially PSX adapter)?

Question:
Is 5V available for connect P360 if I use IPAC adapters?

The IPAC has a 5v header on it IIRC, but it will only supply 5v when it's plugged into USB as far as I know.

You can make it work easily for PC by just connecting the 5v for the P360 to the IPAC header.  The Xbox controller port also supplies 5v as it is basically USB as well, however I'm not sure how easy it would be to grab that 5v from the Xbox adapter.  I don't have much clue about the PS2, but I'd assume it would output the 5v as well, but that's just a guess.  And again, how easily  you could tap that 5v from the adapter I don't know.

I'm not giving you a ton of info unfortunately, but maybe something will grab the attention of someone who knows more about it than I do.
first off your and idiot
