  • I want to Build My Own Arcade Controls!!
Hi,

I have a few questions that I hope you can answer on the D9200 monitor, as I'm attempting to find the best video card to use on it:

1) Have you been able to support all resolutions with mame perfectly with the WG D9200 monitor? If not please explain?

2) What video card are you using for your WG D9200 monitor?

3) Do you think the video card that you are currently using is the best card for the job? If not please explain.

4) If in question 3) you say its not the best video card for the job, what video card do you think will be most suited for the job?

5) What do you think about the following video card?

Matrox MGA millennium card  spec's: http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/video/54001/Specific.htm

6) Are you happy with your WG D9200 monitor?

7) What mame and front-end are you using on you WG D9200 monitor?

Thanks for you responses in advance.

Kind Regards,

Dariusz

Isn't that where we are or has this thread been moved here from another forum?

Hey,
I've got the 27" W&G D9200.  I love it.  As for your questions
1)  I haven't had a problem with resolution yet.  The monitor officially handles up to 640X480 very well.  It doesn't say it supports 800X600, but it does work.  I don't use it though, cause I'm scared it might damage the monitor.
2) I'm using a G-force3. (forgot the brand) It works fine.
3) I really couldn't say if it's the best, but it works just fine.  All the resolutions show up.  All the games work.   Occasionally a game will pop up and say it's out of the monitors range, but if you play with the video options (in mame32 for example) you can get it to work with no problems.   It's a pretty powerful card.  It was probably more than needed, but I wanted to make sure it ran mpegs fine for daphne, and 3D graphics for N64 emulation.  The monitor plugs in with a normal computer monitor cable (15pin sub-D or something like that).
4) see 3)
5) That video card looks decent enough.  I've always stuck with nvidia (until the ati radeon 9700 came out).  As long as you don't exceed the montiors capability, then it all depends on what software you want to run.
6) I love it.
7) I've used mame32, raging dragon, lazarus, emuwizard, and I'm using the latest Mame (.65)

Click on my "WWW" under my name and you can see some pics.  Hope that helps-------Jay

I just noticed that there are a lot of other posts about this monitor in this forum as well.  If you haven't already, check those out.
