I bought a Cluedo quiz game off eBay so I could install it on my touchscreen however when I try to play the game it runs too fast, timers go down to quickly and is practically unplayable. On another PC which is alot higher spec the game runs just fine!

Machine 1 is an XP2000, 512mb ram, MX400 Graphics (The fast running machine)
Machine 2 is an XP2400, 640mb ram, 9800pro Graphics
Both run Windows XP SP2, directx9c, Microsoft .Net and have the latest drivers installed.

I have tried running it in compatability mode, reinstalling directx and graphics drivers, running from the CD drive, installing flash player and seeing if the games settings could be altered (They can't) and still no luck. So does anyone know why the game runs fine on one PC and not the other?

Thanks in advance

Markb

If I understand you, you are using Mame and want to slow down a game on one computer?  If so you can make a game.ini and add lines
syncrefresh             1
throttle                1
and I think,
waitvsync               1
Just try playing around with the Windows video options.

I had this problem with most all games running to fast and was eventually able to correct the problem making some changes such as above.  I remember throttle 1 did not do the trick alone.  Since you are only having this problem with one game you can add the windows video options into a game specific ini and make the changes for only that game.

Unfortunately it's not Mame, its a standalone game. I just can't figure out why it runs fast on one machine and not the other.
