As I've been trying to solve my monitor issues, someone mentioned power can sometimes be a problem. Doesn't seem to be the case with me, but my mind started turning when I decided to get a new bulb and starter for my machine.
The schematics for my machine show the power supply goes to an isolation transformer and from there it goes to the monitor. Which is fine and makes sense. I matched up what was actually wired with the schematics and it was consistent.
The schematics also show that before the power supply hits the isolation transformer, wires split off and go to the florescent lamp.
However, when I looked at what was ACTUALLY wired, that isn't the case. The lamp is wired to the same side of the transformer as the monitor is. Could this cause a problem for the monitor??
Because with a new lamp and starter, the lamp still doesn't really work. Could this be causing problems for the monitor since they are wired in parallel??
Can the lamp be wired to the isolation transformer, or does it have to be wired as my schematics show (before the transformer). It my lamp transformer/balast is bad.....maybe it is messing with my monitor?
