computer to tv (s-video to rca)
« on: February 09, 2006, 01:15:38 am »
This isnt for my mame cabinet but i would like to watch dvds on my tv from my computers dvd player. I have an ATI radeon 9550 using windows xp. I have connected the tv using s-video to rca connection. S-video from the computer and RCA into the tv. When i plug it in windows will not recognize my tv. How do i get this to work. After hooking up the tv and resetting, I went to the ati catalyst control center and it wont show anything but a monitor. So i try to go to setting and enable the second screen through the windows desktop and that doesnt work either, when i enable the second monitor the tv will flicker once and windows will disable it again, besides the quick white flicker on the tv, it remains black. I have tryed all resolutions, still nothing. Any solution? Thanks.

Hello, 911? It's Quagmire. Yeah, it's caught in the window this time.

I figured it out for those of you who have this problem. With the ATI radeon series video cards, the s-video out has 5 pins instead of the regular 4. So the regular s-video to rca converter does not work, you need to get the one from ATI that has the 5 pin configuration.
