I haven't really heard anything about my cabinet.
Does anyone have any comments or suggestions to offer?
I'd appreciate it, thanks!

Looks good.  I like your marquee, how it looks "rustic" on the edges.  And the font rocks also.

So the real question is, does playing Gauntlet again live up to your expectations?

Not really  :)  The gameplay of Gauntlet just doesn't seem like what I remember. Oh, it emulates it just fine, but I guess memories have a weird way of romanticizing things. I suppose nothing can replace those wonder years.

The world is much bigger when your a little guy. I guess the only way to fix that is to play on your knees. Really gauntlet is best when played with buddies or a 7-11 employee near by.

Your cabinet looks great and I like the Theme. Ever think of adding weapons like a ball and chain or a sword behind the shield?

How is the MacAlly iBall working out for ya? Does it use ball bearings? I am about to install a Kensington turbo mouse in my CP, which I plan on screwing in from the top of the panel... Just curious - as I had considered that trackball but couldn't find any...

The iBall works out ok. Especially for the price I got it at.
But it does feel like a typical trackball. Not as smooth as I would like since there aren't ball bearings, but plastic wheels and rods, exactly like in a ball mouse.

Where did you get the piano hinge from?  I can't find one under 4 feet.

The piano hinge I used for the control panel, I bought from Lowes.  Was pretty inexpensive too.

I like it,  I think I might have seen yours prior to making mine.  I did the same cut out in the back to give it a little more character.  Good Job.

Well, eschmunk, is yours finished as well? Do you have a link to yours?
I'm sure the rest of us would like to see it as well.

I haven't really heard anything about my cabinet.

That's because you've already posted it twice before, including a double-posting in Main.  It was allowed to die for a reason, most likely because you haven't been active here in OVER FIVE MONTHS ::)

Stop with the multiple threads.  You sound like some kid tugging at dad's pants leg going "dadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadad"

Other than the obvious taboo of fishing for a compliment (which are resident postwhore/pompous windbag :D has already keylashed you for) I'd say it looks pretty good--a mace or a sword bolted to the side would always help!
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Mine isn't quite finished.  I should be getting all the parts for the control panel and coin door on tomorrow.  After the control panel is finished I want to use a wood grain formica on the front and sides.  Then the plexiglass to finish it up for good.  I should have but didn't do a day to day diary of the build process.  I will take some pictures of it when it is done and post them on these forums though.  Keep an eye out.
