Seperate pad grounds in cp?
« on: February 08, 2006, 10:03:51 am »
Since I've constructed a new cp for my cabinet, I think I've made an error in my ground loop.  I've done a single loop for both 1p and 2p controls, but since I'm attaching to hacked PSX pads, I should have kept a seperate loop for each of the control sets, correct?  The controls go into a DB37 switch box, then get split back out of the box, one for my IPAC, and one that both pads are hacked into.... now, each pcb has it's own ground, of course, but I was only considering the single ground I'd need for the IPAC... assuming both pads sharing a ground wouldn't fry anything, the playstation still expects each pad going in to have it's own seperate ground anyway, right?
Now witness the power of this FULLY OPERATIONAL Mame machine!

Might want to check with a multimeter.

On the Xbox they all share a common, and I would think the PS2 would as well, but it is certainly always best to check.
