New control panel for future cabinet
« on: February 03, 2006, 12:08:12 pm »
Some pictures of my  control panel  ;). It's not tested yet beacause I'am not finish keyboard hacking. Next I want to add  defender styled graphics  and put it into the defender-dimensions cab.
I will put graphic and plexi in few days. I will probably change zippy microswitches to cherry too. ;D
All joysticks, pushbuttons and microswitches bought at http://www.arcadeshop.de/index.php?language=en

Well, not beautyfull inside... ;)

My version of 2 players defender cpo

That's a nice finish!  Did you laminate it yourself or did you buy the wood pre-laminated?

Thanks!

It was pre-laminated wood, using normaly for window-sill (for interior use).

Joystick and pushbuttons are ready to use in 3/4" wood (1,9 centimeter). I used 2,8 cm laminated wood (1.1 ") with extra hole for pushbuton nut.

Cheaper pushbuttons (with zippy microswitch) is laud and not so fast.

Standard pushbuttons (with cherry microswitch) have faster reaction and better plastic used

Green oval Joystick. This 8-way joystick is solid and very easy to instal. The microswitches used - zippy works better in joystick than in pusbuttons.

Ok. The keyboard is hacked. It's really not easy to find good keyboard for this.

Art example.

And additional administratives buttons (from left: Exit, Enter, Tab, Reset, Pause).
