Help me with my setup!

I have a p4 2.8 running with an x800 pro
im planning on hooking this up to a television which has a scart input

i have read up on the various vga->scart writeups, and searched the forum, the problem is i've got too much mixed info.

is a circuit required or does it simply involve joining wires together?
does the circuit prevent damage from occuring to the tv input/pc output?

You can't go directly from the vga port to scart unless you have an ArcadeVGA (or unless you want to see some cool whirly patterns on your TV  ).

Well actually you can but you will have to make friends with AdvanceMAME. Also you'll need a video card which can be tweaked to 15khz using AdvanceMAME.
