I actually found this one to be pretty easy to stump, but they seem to find "contradictions" and based on their answers, it's stupid stuff they never considered. I stumped 'em on "a saw". Now you tell me, can you use a saw at night or not? I said yes, they saw that as a contradiction, since they feel it should be "no". I also stumped them on "a drill". Is a Makita, a Hitachi, a DeWalt, a Black & Decker, a Bosch.....they all make drills. Would you NOT call those colorful? They seem to feel those aren't "colorful" by definition, whereas I do.

Don't post anything they AREN'T stumped on, since they keep asking questions to see if they can eventually get it. I went almost 40 questions with "extension cord" although NATURALLY, there were lots of contradictions. Tell me, if you were asked "are they found in churches", would you answer something other than "maybe"? To them, it's a DEFINITE yes

Evidently the extension cord is more ubiquitous than the humble television

About a year ago somebody gave me the little handheld 20q for xmas or maybe my birthday. I have to say that it's impressive how often it gets it right.

Wow. It is actually quite frustrating. It contradicts my answers in different ways for different objects. A cowbell can't be sent through the mail but a compass can? A candy cane is used at night but a stapler isn't? The funny thing is that it gives you several additional guesses after it deems that you have won and each time my item was on that list. So it was somewhat on the right track on all of them.

That might be getting a litle too specific though. If you just said "a battery" I bet it would get it. Its like trying to have it guess "semi-automatic assault rifle with NV optical sight attachments" versus "a gun".

I don't know, it's not that it didn't guess "aa battery", it never even guessed "battery". And after guessing 4 or 5 times (how ever many times it guesses) and then giving up, I typed in "AA battery" and the only thing close on the list of options was "Car Battery"

One of the early questions was "does it have 4 corners?" I answered "No" because a AA battery (or a C, or D, or AAA) is cylindrical. If I was thinking "9v battery" or "car battery" I'd have said yes. I figure if I had answered the 4-corner question with a "yes", then it might have guessed "car battery", but the AI doesn't know that batteries don't all have 4-corners.

Maybe I'll try again and say "yes" this time to the 4-corner question and see if it gets it.

I tried again thinking about a 9-volt battery and, therefore, answering "yes" to the 4-corner question (which was the first or 2nd question I was asked). Most/a lot of the following questions were completely different.

The first guess was: cork board
Then it guessed: A picture

It's got some dumb questions like "Does it burn?" Uh, sure, if I pour gasoline on it and set it alight.

It continued with bad guesses like:
Is it an oil painting
Is it a ceiling tile?
Is it Carpet?

before giving up again.

Heh, just did car battery, heres a few things its wrong about car batteries:
Do you fill it with liquid? You said Yes, I say Doubtful.
-Actually most car batteries are filled with distilled water

Does it produce heat? You said Sometimes, I say No.
-Try creating an arc between the two terminals and see if it gets hot.

Is it dangerous? You said Sometimes, I say Doubtful.
-if it can melt metal from the heat it can create and contains an acid, I'd say it can be dangerous.

Yeah, I found many issues where what it thinks is wrong.
I tried kazoo

Does it live above ground? You said No, I say Yes.
Is it comforting? You said Sometimes, I say No.
Is it annoying? You said Sometimes, I say Doubtful.
Do you use it at night? You said Sometimes, I say No.
Can you play games with it? You said Sometimes, I say No.

It doesn't live!
It may not be comforting to some people
it can be very annoying to some people
So kazoos are limitted to daytime only??
You can play cranium with it

of course you are going to confuse it even more now! if you imagine a 9 volt battery to have corners, then how many? unless its a battery in 2d world its gonna have 8 corners!
