Marquee size

I tried this in the "Main Forum" with no luck, so thought maybe the artists here might know.   ;D

When figuring out what size to order a marquee, I know to make sure I account for the slots on the top and bottom, but what about the sides?  Should it fit snuggly, or should I be leaving a little bit of space on the ends?

always print more than you think you need, you can always trim it down later.  measure twice, cut once kinda idea.
