Detroit SA; anyone else go?
« on: January 30, 2006, 02:44:08 am »
Anyone else made it to SA in Detroit this past weekend? Sorry you couldn't make it, Kyle. Hope you're feeling better. I didn't take down prices like ususally do, so I can only offer a summary of what I saw. Lots of buyers, again (apparently SA even advertised on the radio) and even a DJ that was there for the preview period. Prices were hit and miss. A few good deals on some cocktail tables (non-working) that were sold early on. A cabaret Tempest with PCB issues went for around 400 I believe (nice condition cab from what I saw) and a Galga with PCB issues went for 450. Cheapest price I saw all-day was for 2 sit-down Pole Positons; both 50 cents (neither one was complete). I had my eye on a Root Beer Tapper for most of the day but didn't get it. I ended up getting a dedicated Capcom Bowling cabinet (sans PCB and power supply, but with working monitor) for $1. It's a sweet cabinet, though I may be replacing the front panel since it looks like someone introduced their knee to it  :'(, but it's still not beyond saving. Overall it was a little better than the last Detroit auction. I saw a few things that are rare or at least not common, so it was a fun day.
