Arcade screensavers?
« on: January 29, 2006, 01:09:02 pm »
Can anyone recommend or point me to some Arcade Screensavers?  When my PC sleeps I'm running the Windows SS and it ruins the feel of the Arcade.  My other alternative is to turn off the sleep and let the game run, but I'm concerned about burn-in.

I dont know of any arcade screen savers.
I would turn the screen saver off, and enable to power management features of windows to turn the screen off after a pre-determined amount of time.  That way you will avoid burn in, and screen will just go black - until you press something.

How about using one of the artwork files from Mame to put on a slide show of cabinets, marquees etc (The my picture slideshow option).
Alternately there is a Pacman screensaver out there somewhere.

what I did for screen saver using winXP is just point it to my mame screenshot folder.  It just randomly shows screen shots.

I went on a little hunt for arcade art (fan art, wallpapers, full size flyers, etc) and have my slideshow point to that folder.  Google's image search gave me a good start by pointing me in the right direction for nice art.
