For power supplys and isolation transformers, this site is very helpfull: http://www.dameon.net/BBBB/buildit.html

Not sure what to recommend for a monitor, but the cheapest solution is to find a used one locally.

Just wanted to alert you to the fact that there are two classes of arcade monitors: standard and medium resolution. Check out KLOV to make sure you get the right type of monitor before you buy.

would a D9200 wells-gardner 27" work just fine for mortal kombat 2?

The D9200 will work with pretty much anything. If you plan on running mame on this cab later, I'd recommend it. If you're just going to play Mortal Kombat and other Jamma games on it, it's overkill! Get a K7500 27"(I think that's the right model #) if Jamma only and save a bit of money.

I actually had an MK machine. Originals use a WG standard resolution 25" monitor. I'd get you the serial number and everything except my brother ahs it now.  :-\ (That's pretty much the monitor you'll find in any Midway full-size upright from that period as far as I can tell.)

My dedicated MK2 has a Hantarex Polo 25" standard res monitor.  Unkown if this monitor was original equipment or not.

I'm in the middle of searching for the answer, but I haven't found the answer yet:  Will a D9200 27" fit in this dedicated cabinet?  I know I'd need to change the monitor mount and bezel, but I don't know if I've got enough room to work with.  Has anybody tried this before?

(edit: corrected "hantarex" spelling)

Is there any particular reason you are building a cabinet for Mortal Kombat II? You can buy a REAL dedicated one for cheaper than you can build one, and then you can get back a bit of your cash buy selling of the extra monitor and boardset that you are going to end up with.

Mortal Kombat 2 is usually a $125 to $300 item at the arcade auctions (depending on condition, and if it is dedicated).
